Glenshee and the Lecht, two of the five Scottish ski resorts, are both approximately 30 miles from the hotel, with the necessary instruction and ski equipment available for hire. Braemar and Balmoral Castle, the Scottish residence of the Royal Family, which is open to the public during summer, is only 15 miles from the Loch Kinord Hotel.

By Road: We are on the main a93 Aberdeen to Perth road. From Aberdeen take the a93 West towards Balater and Braemar. We are 5 miles after Aboyne and 5 miles before Balater.By Public Transport: From Aberdeen bus station there are frequent busses which go along the A93.
