Kingfisher Barn is ideal for everyone including people with a physical disability to come, with or without a carer, for a break. Located in an area of outstanding beauty, offering you the opportunity to experience beautiful riverside walks and Golf courses. The nearby town of Abingdon is just 10 minutes walk away, which has all of the usual town amenities. A superb location for exploring Oxfordshire and surrounding towns. Many other attractions are also to be found in the local area. All bed and breakfast rooms have tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV, own front door key and en-suite facilities. Kingfisher Barn Holiday Cottages have been created by the conversion of Shire horse stable buildings, two of which have been designed specifically for wheelchair users. A delightful setting for a relaxing holiday. All cottages have colour TV, radio & cassette players, a patio with chairs, barbecue and private gardens for guests.
Tourists information
By Car:- From the A34, head for the town centre across 3 roundabouts.
- After the 3rd roundabout you will find yourself on Ock Street (A415).
- Proceed to the traffic lights.
- Turn left onto Stratton Way and pass the 1st set of traffic lights.
- Continue up to the 2nd set of traffic lights, but please notice that the road will widen to go left or right.
- Approach the traffic lights in the right-hand lane.
- After the traffic lights turn right into Stert Street.
- Once in Stert Street you need to move into the left-hand lane, passing 2 pedestrian crossings and the church clock tower on the left.
- Continue straight on past the Nags Head pub on the left, when crossing the bridge over the River Thames.
- Just over the bridge, turn left into the public car park and follow the lane in front of you. This will lead to Kingfisher Barn.
Please call the holiday cottages if you get lost. (It is not as hard as it sounds!)
Remarks
Our rooms are non-smoking. The office hours are: Monday - Friday 7am - 7pm. Saturday 8am - 2pm. Sundays 8am - 12noon. We prefer guests to check in before the office is closed, although checking in after this time is possible. We can provide you with a mobile telephone number, which will reach a member of staff. They will come back to Kingfisher Barn to check you in. Please note that the member of staff has a response time of 20 minutes to reach you once you have contacted them. If you would need this number, please ask by calling the office or quoting it upon booking. Strictly no checking in after 11pm. Please note that if you cancel in breach of our cancellation policy (24 hours prior to arrival), you will be charged for one night of the booking.Cancellation policy
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged GBP 12.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.
Internet: No internet access available.
Meal Plan: Continental breakfast is included in the room rate.
Parking: Free Private parking is possible on site.
Pets: Pets are allowed on request. No extra charges.
