This family-run establishment is based near the centre of the city, providing an ideal base from which to see the many attractions Cambridge has to offer.Situated on a bus route, Iceni House is also a 20-minute walk from the Market Square. The house has always been non-smoking and since opening has enjoyed continuous 4-star grading.
The rooms are all en suite and individually decorated to a high standard, with cleanliness being a priority. Each room has all the comforts you would expect.

Iceni House was converted from a family home into this 7 room bed and breakfast in November 2002, by the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Blackburn. Colin and Michelle are highly experienced in hospitality and pride themselves in the individual design of their home. You will receive a warm welcome from your hosts, who will attempt to make your stay as comfortable and pleasurable as they can.The house is maintained to an excellent standard of decor and cleanliness, achieving a 4-diamond tourist board rating at the first attempt. This has been maintained for the 4+ years that they have been established, resulting recently in the award of 4-stars.
The house has a warm and friendly atmosphere and is enviably situated seconds away from a park, which has an outdoor paddling pool (free of charge), children's play area, bowling green and tennis court.
Iceni House is in a great location, minutes from the ring road. Buses run from the end of the road into the heart of the city, every 5 minutes during peak periods. Within walking distance of Iceni House are numerous places to eat all kinds of food, as well as a friendly local pub and many coffee shops, stores and other outlets.
Also within a 10-minute walk is the new Cambridge Leisure Park, which now has a 28-lane bowling alley with an arcade, various food outlets, an LA Fitness gym and a fantastic multi-screen cinema with bar.

Iceni House has 7 bedrooms, all of which are en suite.Each en suite boasts a power shower as well as toilet and sink.
All rooms are bright, airy and have been individually designed to a high standard, providing comfort and charm. The rooms have been designed following different themes, offering a range of ambiences with both traditional and modern furnishings.
5 of the rooms are doubles and the other 2 are twins. The Homestead room (a family room) can also house an extra bed and can accommodate a teenager or small adult.
If you are celebrating a special occasion, you can pre-order champagne and flowers for your arrival - please request details when booking.
All the rooms have 14-inch colour televisions, and some have digital access. An iron, ironing board and payphone are available in the reception area. Please see individual room details for a full list of included facilities.
High chairs and cots are available subject to availability.
Food and beverages
Breakfast is offered in 2 ways:Monday to Friday:
Breakfast in bed - a delightful continental breakfast will be left in your room fridge for you to take at leisure the following morning. This allows us to accommodate the early rising delegate as well as the well-rested tourist. Breakfast will include croissants, with butter and jam, cereal, fruit juice, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, fruit and morning cake.
Saturday and Sunday:
Either served in you room (as above), or you may wish to take breakfast in the dining room at one of 2 sittings (09:00 or 09:45). Join other guests at the beautiful communal table. Please book this on arrival.
The dining room is bright and airy, looking out onto the family's small but pretty garden (this is not accessible to guests).
Area information
Coleridge Road is situated in a residential area. It is a quiet road, located just off the ring road. Central and conveniently located for the city centre, railway station, Addenbrookes Hospital and all other major attractions.If you enjoy walking, the historic city centre and main shopping area is a leisurely 20-minute walk. Iceni House is also situated near a main bus route which runs regularly into the city centre, railway station and the world famous Addenbrookes Teaching Hospital.
Tourists information
Iceni House is located in Coleridge Road, situated on the favoured south side of the city. It is easy to find, being located just off the city's ring road.By Rail:
Iceni House is a 10-minute walk or short taxi ride away from the railway station. Trains run to and from Cambridge regularly, from major airports and cities, including London.
By Car:
All directions exclude pedestrian and pelican crossings.
From A14 (Huntingdon)/M11:
- Take the M11 and exit at junction 11, following the signs into Cambridge.
- Turn right at the 5th set of traffic lights into Long Road.
- At the next set of traffic lights, turn left into Hills Road.
- At the next set of traffic lights, turn right into Cherry Hinton Road.
- At the 2nd set of traffic lights, turn left into Coleridge Road.
- Iceni House is approximately 360 metres (400 yards) down on the right-hand side.
From the A14 (Newmarket):
- Take the A1303 into Cambridge, until you come to a roundabout.
- Go straight over the roundabout into Newmarket Road.
- At the next roundabout, turn left into Barnwell Road.
- At the next roundabout, go straight over into Brooks Road (passing Sainsburys on the left).
- Go straight through the traffic lights and continue to the next roundabout.
- Take a right into Radegund Road.
- At the junction, turn left into Coleridge Road.
- Iceni House is approximately 360 metres (400 yards) down the left-hand side.
Parking:
Iceni House has a car park which holds 3 or 4 vehicles. When the car park is full, there is ample parking on the road outside of the property, with no restrictions in place.
Remarks
You must specify, in advance, an approximate time of arrival. An hour's time slot any time between 10:00 and 21:00 is acceptable. If you do not provide this time, Iceni House cannot guarantee that someone will be available upon your arrival.Cancellation policy
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children or adults are charged GBP 15.00 per night for extra beds.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.
Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge.
Meal Plan: Continental breakfast is included in the room rate.
