Short description
Blakes of Dover is quite unique as a non-smoking ale and wine bar with fine food and superior accommodation, less than 5 minutes from ferry and cruise terminals.Trains, buses, the A20 and A2 trunk routes are all within 800 metres.
We have been awarded a 4-Star rating by Visit Britain - Quality in Tourism.
Blakes of Dover offers beautiful en suite rooms (including superior options), sleeping 2 to 4 guests. Well equipped rooms include televisions and complimentary trays.
Blakes of Dover also has a wonderful restaurant and bar, providing a delightful medium for eating and drinking. Our real ale range has now been extended, now including micro brewery ales. We are listed in the Good Beer Guide, the Good Cider Guide and the Good Pub Food Guide. In March 2006 we were voted district Pub of the Year by the Campaign for Real Ale.
Food and beverages
Breakfast is not included in the room rates and is available on request, served at 09:00 (not Sundays).Lunches are served Monday-Saturday in the restaurant and Cellar Bar, from 12:00 until 14:00. Normal dinner opening hours are from 18:00 to 21:00, also Monday to Saturday.
A range of evening meals is available. We specialise in the preparation of much locally caught fish, with Dover sole, halibut and plaice often available, as well as smoked haddock, swordfish, and usually our own home-smoked salmon. Also available are prime English steaks, chef's specials and an excellent range of vegetarian dishes.
Blakes also serves over 50 malt whiskies in the cellar bar. We always have at least 3 real ales on tap from our stillage and a large selection of fine wines.

Tourists information
By Road:From m25 - m2/a2 into Dover leading onto Jubilee Way which takes you down to the Eastern Docks Ferry Port (Ferry arrivals would join here) left onto Marine Parade (a20) first main lights (sport centre on right) turn right, first set of lights turn left into Castle Street (one way). Blakes is on 2nd block down on the left, car parking outside.
If coming from m20, via Folkestone, keep on the a20 with the sea on your right, until you come to the bp Garage and traffic lights (Sports centre in front of you) turn left, first set of lights turn left into Castle Street (one way). Blakes is on 2nd block down on the left, car parking outside.
By Public Transport:
London Victoria to Dover Priory-5 minute taxi ride. Express coaches also call-via Airports and London Victoria.
Remarks
A credit card is required as a guarantee. Late cancellation or no-show charges are 100% for one-night reservations or the cost of 2 nights' stay for longer bookings, however if rooms are re-let this may reduce to a minimum of 15% of total booking value +vat to cover our unrecoverable commissions paid. Please supply a mobile phone number if possible to help with contact on your booking.We are a Restaurant and Wine Bar also specialising in Real Ales, we are therefore open from 11.30 am - 11 pm Monday to Saturday and 12 - 10.30 pm Sundays, so early arrivals should present no problems subject to rooms being ready.
However if you wish to arrive before 18:00 (or after 5pm on Sundays) Please let us know so that we can ensure we are available to greet you. Please note that after 11PM (5pm on Sundays) there will be no staff to receive you unless prior arrangements have been made.
Please note the restaurant is very busy at the weekends. Reservations are recommended.
We accept all major credit cards except Diner's Club. We also welcome cash payments either in Sterling or in US$ and Euros at a competitive exchange rate.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years are charged GBP 5.00 per night and person for cots.
All older children or adults are charged GBP 5.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.
Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
